The Exciting 2010 Pontiac G6 3.6 Liter V6 Engine

Most car enthusiasts normally appreciate a couple different motor choices, but there are actually four 2010 Pontiac G6 engine options available which virtually ensures that there will be something suitable for all drivers. The most exciting, however, is the 2010 Pontiac G6 3.6 Liter V6 engine that puts out a powerful 252 horse power and claims 251 pound feet of torque. While it may not seem like a powerful engine, it can thrust the low weight vehicle forward with a zero to sixty time of just over 6 seconds. The fuel economy is still fairly impressive as well for such a powerful engine and is an estimated 26 miles per gallon on the highway and 17 miles per gallon in city settings.

The Exciting 2010 Pontiac G6 3.6 Liter V6 EngineThe economy engine that is available is the 2010 Pontiac 2.4 Liter motor that has 164 horse power and 158 pound feet of torque. Even though most people are happy with the performance that it offers, the fuel economy is perhaps the most advantageous benefit of the 2.4 Liter engine. The estimated gas mileage is 33 miles per gallon on the highway and about 22 miles per gallon in busy city settings.

The Exciting 2010 Pontiac G6 3.6 Liter V6 Engine The smaller six cylinder motor is the 2010 Pontiac 3.5 Liter V6 engine that boasts a strong 219 horse power and 219 pound feet of torque. The estimated gas mileage is about 22 miles per gallon on the highway and 15 miles per gallon in the city. The fourth engine choice is not one that many people select simply because it offers a very small boost in power. The 2010 Pontiac 3.9 Liter V6 engine only offers 222 horse power, but the fuel economy is much worse than the smaller 3.5 Liter V6 and the performance difference is virtually impossible to detect. There are plenty of 2010 Pontiac G6 engine options, so most drivers should be able to find the one that makes them happy.

The GXP version of the Pontiac Solstice debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006. It is powered by a new 2.0 L Ecotec engine equipped with a dual-scroll turbocharger. The engine's output is 260 hp (193 kW) and 260 ft·lbf (353 N·m). This is the highest specific output of any engine in the history of General Motors at 2.1 hp (1.6 kW) per cubic inch, and it is the first gasoline direct injection engine from an American automaker.

Federal loans could breathe new life into GM's RWD vehicles

Pontiac+G8Just this week the $25 billion federal loan package was approved for the car industry, and already insiders are hinting that the extra cash could revive plans for GM's rear-wheel drive Alpha platform. Movement toward more RWD models had been shelved on concerns over spending and efficiency regulations earlier this year, despite the large investments that had been made in that direction.

Bringing the Alpha platform back might help recuperate some of the R&D money that would otherwise have been lost on the project. If the reports prove true, GM won't just be barging forward with an outdated model of RWD excess, according to GM Inside News. Instead, they would be working to make the Alpha platform more flexible, so that it can accommodate a whole range of vehicles from compact coupe to full-size sedan. That's a smart business move in terms of maximizing the investment they've already made, despite the minor efficiency and cost issues of RWD designs when compared to easier-to-package FWD cars.

Last year, speculation about a possible RWD Pontiac G6 began to build, but the plan was later dashed on the grounds of cost and economy issues. A flexible Alpha platform vehicle may yet revive those hopes as well, however, since the G6 would be within the scope of vehicle sizes that are reportedly being considered. Similarly, the recently speculated end of the Kappa platform may see a migration to Alpha as well, meaning the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky/Opel GT line of cars may yet live on as well. readmore

2009 Pontiac G3 Officially Coming To U.S.

Pontiac G3

Pontiac G3 will be headedto the United States as a 2009 model year five-door hatchback. Yes, folks, GM's decided the Chevy Aveo was just so nice, they couldn't let Chevy have all the fun, now foisting the rebadged Korean econobox onto the brand that was once all about "driving excitement." But that time seems so long ago. Don't get us wrong, we're of the opinion the Chevy Aveo's a very nice little fuel-sipper that's great for the driver who never wants to, you know, enjoy driving. readmore ...

Gallery: Pontiac G8

Pontiac_G8

Since the new Pontiac G8, which is based off the European Holden Commodore SS-V, will be introduced tomorrow at the Chicago Auto Show, I thought it would be nice to add some wallpapers to the database. And for information purposes, the new G8 will be packed with a 6.0L V8 with 362 horsepowers. If you like it, the new G8 will arrive in showrooms by early 2008. Those 20-inch wheels look lovely as well.

2008 PONTIAC SOLSTICE Recall

General Motors Corp. announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Pontiac Solstice. They stated that certain passenger vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard NO. 207, “Seating systems” and standard NO. 210 “Seat belt assembly anchorages”. These vehicles may have one to four inboard seat stud fasteners that do not meet specification for strength.

In the event of a crash, the seat and seat belt assembly may not restrain the occupant as intended and could result in injury to the occupant. Dealers will inspect the inboard seat studs and, if necessary, remove the stud and install a bolt free of charge. The recall began on October 10th, 2007. Owners may contact Pontiac at 1-800-620-7668 and Saturn at 1-800-972-8876.
